Doing It Better Diving (Together!)

A diving community based in Maastricht, the Netherlands, founded and led by Melissa & Rick.

We started DIB Diving in February 2025 with one simple goal: to bring people together through our shared love for the underwater world. Since then, our community has grown to 125 members, welcoming more divers at every event!

We’re a warm, open-minded community of scuba divers and freedivers who believe diving is for everyone. For us, diving is about more than what happens underwater. It’s about the people, the experiences and the connections we make along the way.

Two different paths, one shared passion.

Melissa discovered freediving in 2023 and quickly turned her passion into a journey of training, teaching and personal achievements. She has broken seven Portuguese freediving national records, holds the national depth record and has reached a personal best depth of 61 metres. As a Molchanovs and PFI freediving instructor, she loves helping others discover their potential and is currently working toward her SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor certification.

Rick became a scuba diving instructor in 2018 and has continued to expand his skills and knowledge across both scuba diving and freediving. He is an SDI/TDI and PFI instructor with a passion for technical diving, sidemount and especially ice diving. Through coaching and guidance, he helps divers build their skills, confidence and understanding of diving.

Together, we bring these two disciplines closer, creating opportunities to learn from one another, explore new places and share unforgettable underwater adventures.

Scuba or freediving? Why choose?

We believe both disciplines have something unique to offer. Through our events in Limburg and around the world, we bring together divers of different backgrounds, interests and experience levels.

From Egypt and the Philippines to Switzerland, Finland and Iceland, our adventures have given us the opportunity to explore diverse underwater environments, learn new skills and, above all, have fun together.

More than diving

We also offer a carefully selected range of diving gear from brands we genuinely love and believe in. We value quality, functionality and thoughtful design, especially from brands that recognise that divers come in different shapes and sizes. We believe everyone deserves equipment that fits their needs, supports their goals and helps them feel comfortable and confident in the water.
